PortSpy is a lightweight desktop toolfor Windows that turns any PC into a network diagnostic listener — no packet sniffer, no protocol assumptions, no guesswork.
Point it at a port range, see what's actually arriving
Enter a start and end port and PortSpy opens an independent listener on every port in that range in seconds. Each one reports back immediately — listening, or already in use by another service — so you know exactly what's available before a single byte of device traffic ever arrives.
No protocol? No problem
Medical devices, industrial controllers, and proprietary equipment rarely speak plain HTTP. PortSpy doesn't try to interpret what it receives — every connection is logged with a full hex and ASCII dump of the raw payload, whether it's readable text or dense binary data. If something reaches the port, you'll see it exactly as it arrived.
Built for the "it just won't connect" moment
When a vendor's diagnostic device can't reach a PC and nobody knows why, PortSpy answers the first and most important question: does any traffic arrive at all, and on which port? From there, firewall rules, wrong ports, and silent failures become visible instead of guessed at.
Filter without losing anything
Once traffic starts flowing, the log can get busy fast. Filter by remote IP address, by content, or both — the full log keeps recording in the background the entire time, so changing or clearing a filter never costs you a single entry.
Safe by default, even at scale
Starting hundreds or thousands of listeners at once runs safely on a background thread, with a confirmation prompt before anything that could put real strain on the system. Every listener fails independently, too — a handful of ports already claimed by Windows itself won't stop the rest from coming online.
Log it, copy it, done
Copy the current log to the clipboard for a ticket or an email to the vendor, or clear it and start the next test run fresh.
